What’s Duchenne?
Duchenne muscular dystrophy (DMD) is a muscle wasting disease that statistically takes the lives’ of individuals affected by it in their early 20’s. Patients with (DMD) are afflicted by Duchenne the day they are born and as time progresses they lose their ability to walk, typically by age 11, and eventually the mobility in their arms. This causes the patient’s to be fully dependent on a wheelchair. The reason this disease is fatal is because Duchenne eventually attacks the heart and lung muscles.
People with Duchenne suffer from the day they are born until the day they die, but we now have a real opportunity to change that. We have a chance to make history and Complete The Cure™.
