How we were founded

Elijah Stacy founded Destroy Duchenne on July 25th, 2017. Elijah suffers from this disease, Duchenne, himself and he wanted to use his situation to put an end to this disease. He has done everything from creating the logo, naming the company, building the website, to even creating the legal establishment of Destroy Duchenne. He started a GoFundMe on day 1 to raise $600 to get started and in the first week, he raised $1,000. He then used this money to pay for the legal paperwork to make Destroy Duchenne a registered tax-exempt nonprofit organization.

We have one of the most powerful and unique stories. Our founder is fighting every day for his life and other kids afflicted by this disease. He is fighting for parents, so they don’t have to lose their sons. He is fighting for a better future for the world.

We believe that we are the organization that is making history since our conception. We believe that we will go down in the history books as one of the most inspiring events to ever occur. How often do you hear about teens starting nonprofits to cure their own disease?
